The small was a bit big on my 2.6 year old but the tie in back brought it together. Yes, like others we had to maneuver the hat/hair a bit by removing some of the stuffing but that was easy. Last night was a hit for my daughter - everyone thought she was adorable and we might just get another year out of it! Fast shipping. Packaged well. LOVE AMAZON!
