(More customer reviews)I wasn't sure which size to order for my daughter, so I ordered a Medium and Large. She wears an 8 shirt, but is not pencil thin, so I had her try on the Large first. First off, it was weirdly tiny. The velvet bodice was very, very narrow at the waist, but not at the shoulders, the fabric was like sandpaper it was so rough at the seams, the black arm bands ARE NOT elastic and are sewn quite small and the costume wasn't the color depicted in the picture in fact, the hat is supposed to match the dress, but the Large had no green in it at all?? Also, the hat was kind of small for her. She was quite uncomfortable in it and it didn't "hang" at all, it was so rough that all the layers stood almost straight out.
I took the Medium out of the package and noticed that it was MUCH MUCH larger than that the Large, the hat was bigger, the arm bands were larger, the fabric was totally different and much softer AND it was the right colors. Very weird. Also, the maroon layer is a thin plastic on the medium but fabric on the Large. The packages had the same picture, but they were obviously made by different companies, different part numbers on the hat etc. So while it IS a cute costume, beware, you may not get what you think you're getting!!! I got it on a deep discount with sale and some coupons at a local store, otherwise, it's A LOT of money for a not so high quality costume.
I am keeping the Medium and returning the much smaller Large. Another quality product of China...sigh.
