The cards and box are durable. the box is designed like a drawer that pulls out not like a deck of cards box. it is a little hard for a child to open, which i like because that means baby brother can't get into it. a four of five year old can open it but not a small toddler. the cards have fun interesting pictures. my daughter and i have had a blast making up stories. This is already a favorite in our house.
